The response to the People at their wit’s end, is not murder, repression, torture, and gallows!
The news of the shocking crimes committed by the repressive forces under the command of the Leader of the Islamic Republic in the face of people’s protests for their rights has sparked a wave of deep sorrow and widespread concern in Iranian society. Under the blocking of any communication with outside, there is still no confirmed statistics on the number of dead, injured, and arrested, but even the lowest published figures indicate the repetition of a horrific crime and the commission of a human and tragic disaster.
We, the Fedaian of the people of Iranian, honor the memory of the victims of this bloody repression. We, along with and in solidarity with the great humane society of Iran, and in mourning the lives lost, offer our condolences to the bereaved families and the people of our homeland.
The responsibility to protect the lives, dignity, and health of the citizens of each country lies with its government. No excuse, reason, argument, or logic, including the violence of some protesters, or even the claim of the presence of foreign elements or forces among them, can justify the killing, widespread repression, and use of force against the people of the country. The direct responsibility for the lives lost and the injured lies with Ali Khamenei, the leader of the regime, and the institutions and forces under his command, who have blocked the path to dialogue and chosen violence as the main means of confronting society.
The threats of the head of the judiciary of the Islamic Republic to “deal harshly” with protesters have, throughout the history of the Islamic Republic, meant issuing even more death sentences and heavy punishments for those arrested. We find these statements extremely worrying and condemn them, and we warn of the catastrophic consequences of such threats. The nearly half-century experience of the authoritarian regime of the Islamic Republic has proven that the intensification of judicial and security repression has never deterred the people, civil society, and progressive forces of Iran from their struggle. The increase in continuous, frequent, and diverse protests by the people in the past decade is the best evidence of this claim.
The Organization of the People’s Fedaian of Iran (Majority) condemns the killing and brutal suppression of the people’s legitimate protests and addresses those in charge of violence against the people, declaring that today’s Iran is not the Iran of the sixties when you started killing political prisoners. Rest assured that today, killing and repression will not provide an escape for the continuation of your rule. The governance is the right of the people, and the people will regain this right from you.
We demand the immediate release of those protesting against their living conditions, the cessation of filing cases and issuing indictments against them, transparency regarding the statistics of the killings, the announcement of the names of those killed, injured, and arrested, the restoration of their dignity, and the trial and punishment of the perpetrators of these murders.
The Organization of the People’s Fedaian of Iran (Majority) once again announces its readiness to participate in protest and actions with all republican and patriotic forces inside and outside Iran regarding the most central calls and demands such as freedom of struggle, protests and peaceful gatherings, the release of political, social and economic prisoners, holding free elections with the abolition of discretionary supervision and paving the way for constitutional reforms.
