Political-Executive Committee of Political-Executive Committee of the People’s Fadaian Organization of Iran (Majority)
Following the spread of popular protests against the deteriorating economic situation in our country, US President Donald Trump announced that if the Islamic government cracks down on the protests, the United States is ready and has its finger on the trigger to attack Iran and support the protesters.
The People’s Fadaian Organization of Iran (Majority) unlike certain false pretenders to lead popular protests and supporters of the monarchy for Iranians, condemns the public statement of interference by the President of the United States in the internal affairs of our country. To free itself from tyranny, Iran needs neither the support nor the interference of war criminals, accomplices and partners in genocide and crimes against humanity, nor of those who violate the rights of nations.
The continuation of colonial and imperialist policies by the US government, the most recent and striking examples of which are its massive support for Israel’s numerous and ongoing crimes against the population of the occupied Palestinian territories, the invasion and military aggression against Venezuela and the bombing of that country, as well as the attempt to intimidate and occupy Greenland, is the main factor contributing to global instability and the spread of massacres, wars, and injustices on an international scale.
Throughout their long history, Iran and the Iranian people have always relied on themselves and on peaceful struggles and demands to overcome internal tyranny. Any illusion, any attempt to rely on foreigners and hope that their influence will pave the way for a better future has always ended in deep despair and disappointment.
The policy of the United States, particularly under the presidency of Donald Trump, constitutes a flagrant violation of internationally recognized rules, norms, and principles. The actions of the last three US administrations, including the withdrawal from the Joint Comprehensive Plan of Action (JCPOA) also known as Agreement on Iran’s nuclear program and the imposition of crippling sanctions, have directly contributed to plunging the Iranian people into a disastrous economic situation and daily hardship of life.
The People’s Fadaian Organization of Iran (Majority), as a patriotic and popular force, while emphasizing that the main root cause of the current political, economic, and social deadlock lies in the centralized and inept power structure of the Islamic Republic, declares its opposition in principle to any foreign sanctions and interference, and considers that these policies are detrimental to the interests of the people in terms of strengthening authoritarian forces, the economic rentier mafia, and the continuation of political deadlock.
Although the spokesperson for the Iranian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the government spokesperson, and Mr. Massoud Pezzeshkian himself have emphasized the legitimacy of the popular demands and the need for dialogue with the protesters, the continuation of security and judicial actions demonstrates that these positions do not reflect the policy of the government as a whole and that the repression of protesters is not only continuing but intensifying. Our organization reaffirms its unwavering support for the peaceful and legitimate protests of the people, and states that the way out of the current deep crisis is neither through foreign intervention nor repression; it will only be possible by recognizing the people’s right to self-determination and handing over governmental authority to them.
The People’s Fadaian Organization of Iran (Majority) believes that the first and most immediate measure to overcome the current crisis and neutralize any foreign threat and intervention is to show genuine solidarity with the people, recognize the right of citizens to demonstrate and assemble, withdraw the forces of repression from the streets, and release all those who have been arrested. Iran and the Iranian people will succeed in victoriously establishing a republic based on their own authority and freedom, equality, democracy, social justice, and universal human rights through their persistent, nonviolent, and rights-based struggles.
May the Iranian people’s struggle against tyranny and for freedom and social justice be victorious.
Long live a free and independent Iran.
