Statement of the Political-Executive Committee of The Organization of Iranian People’s Fadaian (Majority)
Rely on your people, think about national unity, and create an atmosphere for Dialogue, Reconciliation, and National Solidarity!
The Organization of Iranian People’s Fadaian (Majority), as it has previously stated, strongly condemns Israel’s military aggression against Iranian sovereignty. Israel attacked Iranian soil at a time when Iran was negotiating with the United States. Such an act is a violation of international norms and a belligerent act aimed at igniting the flames of war in the entire region and is condemned.
We also, with a deep understanding of the current difficult, complex, and dangerous situation, and with a sense of heavy responsibility towards the Iranian people and the fate of the country, strongly warn and express concerns about the threats by the President of the United States of America to intervene militarily in this war. Not only are the lives and property of our people being harmed and destroyed under the continuous Israeli bombardments, but the attack on nuclear facilities is against all international agreements. Such attacks could lead to irreparable environmental damage on a large scale, the destructive effects of which will extend beyond the geographical borders of Iran.
We firmly emphasize that no military solution will be just and sustainable, either for Iran or for the region. War and destruction are a precursor to injustice and further suffering for the people. The only way out of this crisis is to prevent further escalations of war, to move beyond violence and return to diplomacy, dialogue, and adherence to human rights and sustainable peace.
Accordingly, we urge the United States government and the authorities of the Islamic Republic of Iran, recognizing their human and moral responsibility towards the defenseless people, to immediately and without any preconditions return to the negotiations that have been suspended as a result of Israel’s aggression against Iran, and to embark on a path of direct, transparent, and constructive negotiations to resolve the differences.
We call on the United Nations to not remain silent in its duty to prevent further killing in Iran and the region and to take the necessary measures to extinguish the fire of war. We expect the international community to call with a single and decisive voice for an end to this war, an immediate ceasefire, and a return to rationality and diplomacy.
In these critical circumstances, the Islamic Republic is obliged to rely on its people, think about national unity, and provide an atmosphere for dialogue, reconciliation, and national solidarity. The immediate release of political prisoners and an end to the detention of political figures is a necessary step to rebuild public trust and begin a national dialogue. Iran’s strong civil society and trade unions have repeatedly shown that they can be very influential at critical junctures. It is the government’s duty to trust civil activists and open their hands to help the people. Our compatriots need empathy and trust more than anything else, and creating the conditions for this empathy and trust is one of the primary duties of the government.
At the same time, we warn that in the current unstable and dangerous conditions, the Islamic Republic is directly responsible for protecting the lives and health of all prisoners, especially political prisoners. While many people are trying to reach safe places, prisoners and many people in the big cities of our country are deprived of such an opportunity for various reasons, and their lives are seriously at risk. Any failure to protect them is unacceptable and contrary to the human and legal responsibilities of the government.
We deeply believe that saving Iran and passing through this dangerous turn is only possible through the path of peace, national reconciliation, open dialogue, and the participation of all caring forces inside and outside the country. Now is the time for big and responsible decisions.
